Modules Description: Communication and Interaction

Communication and Interaction are process by which information are exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or behaviour, and where a mutual action or influence is created. In order to start this process the first step is to be visible from the others and understand which common system have to be used to create a reciprocal influence.

Digital Visibility:

The concept of digital visibility must be understood as the visibility that each of us, as a human being, has in relation to others. If we enter in a small room, with few people inside, the attendees will immediately notice our presence because our physical features (height, weight, etc.) are visible to others. No one has the gift of invisibility, so it is up to us to decide how to be visible in the eyes of others by carefully choosing the tools that can increase or diminish the attention to us. In the case of digital visibility, we have to imagine to enter in an unlimited room with a number of people that depending on the tools used, it may vary from thousands to billions of people. The first aspect to be identified is therefore why we want to make us visible to others and doing the best to achieve our result. If our goal is to find a job using digital tools then we have to start by choosing the best room to enter. Once we have made that decision, we must prepare to make our profile appetizing in an appropriate way to the demands that the business sector requires. In the following Units we will see how to achieve the objective of looking for a job using properly systems as E-mail, chat and social media and increasing the possibility to be selected.

Your emailed message may be the very first thing a potential employer sees from you. The same meaning is foreseen in the use of the internal chat of specific social media. Within this Unit we will see how to use properly these systems in order to present our self in a persuasive and attractive way.

  • UNIT 2 - Social Media 1

    Several employers and recruitment agencies today are using social media to source the right candidates, which means that on-line social network sites have become an essential forum to advertise your skills, and allow job seekers to establish social brand, to create an online network and identify job opportunities. The main social media used in this manner is LinkedIn, that can be a valuable tool in your job search as businesses, recruiters and head-hunters will use LinkedIn to search for candidates for particular jobs and then approach them directly. The purpose of this Unit is to establish clear instruments to increase the possibility to be selected.
